STAR Program Recipients Summer 2025

The STAR Program offers Columbia Law School administrative staff a way to acknowledge and express appreciation for co-workers who make a difference in their everyday work life.

Summer 2025

These are the recipients of the Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Program for the Summer 2025. Winners  receive a $2,000 award and a standing crystal STAR as a signal of the school’s appreciation.

Office of Admissions 

James has been a vital member of the Admissions team for nearly four years. Alongside his full responsibilities as an Admissions Officer, he consistently serves as a calm, steadying presence for both his colleagues and our student ambassadors, making others feel valued and respected. His ability to connect with students has helped grow the admissions ambassador program and increased involvement from student organizations in admissions programs and activities. James goes above and beyond to ensure that Columbia Law School is a welcoming place for all students. His efforts include growing our high school outreach program and pipeline programs to expand access to Columbia Law School for students. James readily volunteers to support others, contributes meaningfully to collaborative projects, and leads with humility, grace, and generosity. For these reasons, and more, James is a STAR in the admissions office.

Becca is an exceptional colleague and ambassador for Columbia Law. She has elevated the Law School's social media profile through innovation and creativity.  She consistently brings a positive, proactive and dynamic approach to problem-solving and demonstrates a strong commitment to service and building trust. Becca has become a reliable resource for social media guidance by expanding the ways in which the Law School is showcased in the communications channels - even during  times of crisis - developing valuable relationships across departments and within the University in general. She is highly skilled and diligent in monitoring social media, effectively communicating any news that could impact the Law School’s reputation. 

Becca’s enthusiasm, professionalism, dedication, and willingness to participate in a variety of projects to showcase the best of Columbia Law makes her a STAR in our community.

Jessica’s leadership has made a lasting impact on her team as well as our students. She fosters a supportive environment that empowers her team with the autonomy to grow, think creatively, and take initiative. This approach has not only led to more innovative programming for new students but has also helped her team members build confidence and expand their professional skills. Jessica views her team’s successes as her own and consistently gives credit where it is due, even when she has played a key role in their achievements. Her focus on uplifting and encouraging others embodies the true spirit of leadership. Jessica is highly deserving of the STAR Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership and commitment to her team’s success.
