Guest Access
The Law School introduces the first-of-its-kind, Guest Pre-Registration portal as a one-stop shop to obtain a single QR code for guests to access Morningside Campus and Law School buildings during normal operating hours

To pre-register a single guest for access to Law School buildings and Morningside Campus, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Login to the School of Law Pre-Registration portal with UNI credentials
Step 2: Under the Pre-Register a Single Guest tab, complete the Visit and Guest information required fields (*) and click on the Register Your Guest button
Step 3: You will receive a ‘Your Guest has been Registered’ email and the guest will receive a QR code via email

To pre-register multiple guests for access to Law School buildings and Morningside Campus:
Step 1: Login to the School of Law Pre-Registration portal with UNI credentials
Step 2: Under the Pre-Register Multiple Guests tab, download the Bulk Registration Template and complete one row for each guest visit date as follow: Visit Date: must in MM/DD/YYYY format Building Location: enter the building name (e.g. Jerome Greene Hall, William & June Warren Hall, Butler Library) Event Start/End time: must be in military format Phone Number: excludes dashes and spaces Save the file as a CSV (.csv)
Step 3: Select the .csv file and click the Upload Guest List button. You will receive a ‘Your Guest has been Registered’ email and the guests will receive a QR code via email

The host or event planner must email [email protected]
For 5 guests or fewer: include guest information (full legal name, email address, building, visit date and purpose)
For 5 guests or more: attach the completed Bulk Registration Template as a CSV (.csv) file
The guest will receive a QR code via email to present to the building security booth
Who is a Law School Guest?
Anyone without an active Law School status including: alumni, family members, friends, students from other CU schools (e.g. Barnard, SIPA), speakers/attendees to an event, and vendors.
Please note that all CU staff members are able to swipe their CUID at the turnstiles during regular academic and instructional hours.
What if the guest did not receive or lost their QR code?
The guest can present a valid photo-ID for the security to search and check-in the guest via the digital guest list.
What are valid forms of identification?
Valid forms of identification include, but are not limited to, any photo-based card reflecting legal name such as Columbia CUID card, state license, and passport.
What if an uninvited guest arrives at the building?
The security will ask for business reason for visit and proceed with contacting relevant department to validate visit, request approval, and generate a QR code.
Non-event policy
Faculty members can request up to 3 same-day guests per day subject to emergency circumstance for academic and business purposes.
Staff members can request up to 2 same-day guests per day subject to emergency circumstance for academic and business purposes.
Event policy
All Law School Event Planners are responsible:
- To program the event registration page to close no later than 24-48 hrs prior to the event
- To register all guests by 5 p.m. on the business day prior to the event
- Weekend and Monday guests must be registered by 5pm on Friday
- To aid guests and triage QR code issues during event check-in
- All event guests must be pre-registered; no walk-ins permitted
For event same-day guest access:
- The event planner must email [email protected]
- For 5 guests or less: include guest information (full legal name, email address, building, visit date and purpose)
- For 5 guests or more: include the completed Bulk Registration Template as a CSV (.csv) file
