Aliou David Sow
Aliou David Sow

Audiovisual Specialist
Information Technology

Aliou embodies all the characteristics when one thinks about what it means to be community-minded. He is always looking for ways to give back to the CLS community; he consistently volunteers his time and expertise to help others and does so without expecting anything in return. This is what makes Aliou so special - and deserving of the STAR award recognition. Having one of the few roles where there is always a critical need to be on hand to support students, faculty, and non-faculty; he handles his job with grace and is always ready to help find solutions.

Ricardo Lombera
Ricardo Lombera

Coordinator
Secretariat

Ricardo has embedded himself as an invaluable member of the Columbia Law School community as Coordinator in the Secretariat. In his short time here, he has transformed operations in the office. Unfazed by the high-traffic work in his office, colleagues remark on Ricardo’s ability to take on multiple tasks with ease, including supporting them in their events or troubleshooting technology. From an outsider’s perspective, he makes his work, which is certainly demanding and intensive, seem effortless and welcoming. Some of the words that can be used when describing Ricardo are: creative, efficient, kind, thoughtful, diligent, patient, community-oriented, and a great friend. His commitment to the Law School and willingness to help others are what makes Ricardo deserving of the STAR Award.
