Join a walk-in session for help configuring your laptop to take advantage of technical resources at the Law School.
Key points regarding Laptop Help Sessions
- The Helpdesk can only support English versions of OSX and Windows.
- The sessions, below, are designed to provide students with dedicated support with configuring their laptops at the start of the academic year. These is no need to make an appointment ahead of time.
- Attendance at a session is not mandatory.
- Attending a laptop session will help you:
- Connect to high speed printers (black & white and color) around the law school
- Connect to the university's wi-fi network
- Access Columbia resources from home via VPN
- Secure your device from viruses and malware with MalwareBytes
- Connect to network drives (G and H drives)
- Keep your device up-to-date on Mac or Windows

If you would prefer to configure your laptop on your own, you can use our guides for Windows and MacOS computers. Remember that you can stop by the IT Helpdesk from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in either Jerome Greene Hall 131 or William and June Warren Hall 203.
