Narine
Nariné Bournoutian
Head of Continuing Resources and Collection Maintenance
Law Library

Nariné is a member of the Law Library’s Technical Services team, where she works tirelessly to facilitate access to a range of resources for faculty, students, and researchers. Over the past several months, Nariné managed the complex project of relocating whole floors of material in the Library's print collections, creating and implementing a comprehensive workflow and organizing the efforts of the Law Library staff, student workers, and outside contractors. In addition, when the Library closed due to the pandemic, Nariné guided her unit in the shift to remote work—creating systems that enabled on-campus staff to continue to perform their essential job functions smoothy and productively. Nariné is recognized for her technical proficiency and positive attitude, not to mention her wry sense of humor. The STAR Committee is thrilled to be able to acknowledge Nariné’s contributions to the Law School and Law Library communities.

Bernice Jusino
Senior Coordinator
Office of Student Services

Bernice has been described as the heart of the Student Services team. In addition to being its longest-serving member, she is an innovator with a natural ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement new ideas to enhance the level and efficiency of service provided to students. While working remotely, Bernice has been vital in making sure that the team’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. Her recent work in managing requests from students facing financial hardship due to the pandemic has been critical. Bernice works on the front lines interacting with students and routinely goes above and beyond to provide assistance. She is a warm and convivial team member and she is trusted by students and colleagues alike. In recognition of these outstanding qualities, as well as her past and present contributions, the STAR Committee is so pleased to recognize Bernice.

Maritza Sanchez
Administrative Assistant
Office of Admissions

For more than 30 years, Maritza has been the behind-the-scenes rock that keeps the Admissions Office running. Though her work is often hidden from view, she is a core member of the team working to ensure that new students’ entry into the Law School is as seamless as possible. Her technical acumen, in particular her proficiency with the ACES database, is relied upon by her colleagues; she goes above and beyond to provide support—always with a smile on her face. During Admitted Students’ Day, you’ll see Maritza in the Jerome Greene Hall lobby greeting and welcoming the new students. We congratulate and present the STAR Award to Maritza for her dedication and commitment to the Law School community.
